How much does it cost to remove a tree?
It depends on the tree's height and spread, what's under it, access for the equipment, and whether the stump is included. Small trees in open yards start in the low hundreds; big trees over a house run into the thousands. Will gives you an exact written price on site, free.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. Will comes out in person, looks at the job and writes the price down. No obligation, and no fee if you decide to wait.
Are you licensed and insured?
Fully licensed and insured, and permitted to work anywhere in Suffolk County. Thirty years of tree work.
What are your hours?
Open 24 hours Monday through Saturday because of emergency work; closed Sunday. The phone is answered after hours if you're calling about an emergency or an estimate.
Do I need a permit to take down a tree?
Usually not on private residential property, but some villages and the Central Pine Barrens require one, and some trees are protected. We know the local rules and tell you at the estimate.
What happens to the wood and brush?
Brush is chipped on site and hauled. Logs are hauled away, or cut to length and left stacked if you want firewood. The lawn is raked and blown before we leave.
Do you grind the stump?
Yes, with our own Vermeer SC1052, well below grade so you can seed or plant. It's a line on the estimate, so it's your call.
What equipment do you bring?
Our own: a 75-foot International bucket truck, a Vermeer BC1800XL chipper, an International log loader and chip truck, three Vermeer 925TX mini skid steers and a Vermeer SC1052 stump grinder.
How far do you travel?
Across Suffolk County: the south shore from Patchogue to the Moriches is home, and we work north to Port Jefferson and Wading River, west to Ronkonkoma and Sayville, and east to Riverhead, Westhampton and Hampton Bays.
A tree is on my house. What do I do?
Keep everyone out of the rooms under it, stay away from any downed wire, call PSEG if a line is involved, and call us at (516) 315-5716. We'll tell you what to do until we arrive.
